Humphead Cichlid
Cyphotilapia frontosa
Adult Humphead Cichlids inhabit deep rocky slopes and ledges in Lake Tanganyika. They hunt small fishes, crustaceans, and other bottom-dwelling prey, often becoming more active in dim light. Mature males develop the species' distinctive forehead hump and defend territories around suitable rock cover.
