Sardinian Warbler
Curruca melanocephala

The adult Sardinian warbler is a small, agile songbird of Mediterranean scrub, gardens, olive groves, and thorny hedges. It forages actively through low vegetation for insects, spiders, and berries, often flicking its tail as it moves. Males are notable for the dark head and bright red eye-ring, while females are browner and less contrasting. Despite its small size, it is bold around cover and gives sharp alarm calls when disturbed.
