Two-spot Ladybird
Adalia bipunctata

The adult two-spot ladybird lives in gardens, hedgerows, woodland edges, crops, and parks, especially where aphids are common. It feeds mainly on aphids and other small plant-feeding insects, using flight to move between feeding sites and overwintering shelters. Its red-and-black warning colours advertise bitter defensive chemicals, which it can release as droplets from its leg joints when threatened. Despite its name, this species can vary in colour pattern, with some adults appearing mostly black with red spots.
