Croton caterpillar Caterpillar
Achaea janata (caterpillar)
This caterpillar lives on croton, castor, and other broad-leaved host plants in tropical and subtropical habitats. It feeds by chewing foliage and often rests along stems or beneath leaves during the day. Its variable brown-and-green markings help it blend into the plant while it grows rapidly through successive molts.
