Giant Leopard Moth
Hypercompe scribonia

Adult giant leopard moths inhabit woodland margins, meadows, gardens, and other areas with abundant vegetation. They are mainly nocturnal, flying toward lights and resting quietly on bark or leaves by day. Adults generally do not feed, relying on energy stored from their caterpillar stage; their white wings are marked with bold black spots, while the abdomen shows vivid blue spots when exposed.
