Black Redstart Fledgling
Phoenicurus ochruros (fledgling)

A black redstart fledgling has left the nest but still makes short, uncertain flights among walls, roofs, rocks, and low perches. It is fed by adults while learning to catch small insects on the ground and in the air. It flicks its tail, flutters between cover, and gives contact calls to stay in touch with its parents. Its mottled juvenile plumage makes it less conspicuous than the sharper adult male or grey-brown female.
