Common Swift Fledgling
Apus apus (fledgling)

A fledgling Common Swift leaves the nest nearly fully grown and is capable of immediate, sustained flight. Unlike many young birds, it receives no extended training period after departure and must begin catching small airborne insects on its own. It may stay aloft for long stretches soon after fledging, using rapid turns and glides to feed. Its narrow sickle-shaped wings make speed and endurance its greatest strengths.
