House Fly Maggot
Musca domestica (larva)

House fly maggots live in moist, decaying organic matter such as manure, garbage, compost, and carrion. They feed by scraping and swallowing bacteria-rich soft material, growing quickly through several molts. The larva avoids drying out by staying buried in damp substrate and wriggling away from light. In warm conditions, this stage can develop rapidly enough to pupate within only a few days.
