House Fly Pupa
Musca domestica (pupa)

The pupa usually rests in a drier, protected spot near the larval food source, often hidden in soil, litter, or crevices. It does not feed and is enclosed within a hardened brown puparium formed from the last larval skin. Inside, the body reorganizes into the winged adult form. A notable feature of true flies is that the adult escapes by using an inflatable head sac called the ptilinum to split the puparium open.
