Fallow Deer Yearling
Dama dama (yearling)
A fallow deer yearling ranges through open woodland, parkland, and grassy clearings as it becomes more independent. It browses leaves, herbs, grasses, acorns, and other seasonal plant foods. Yearlings are quick and wary, often fleeing with springing bounds when disturbed. Young males may begin growing simple antlers before developing the broad palmate antlers of older bucks.
