Peregrine Falcon Hatchling
Falco peregrinus (hatchling)

A down-covered nestling found on cliff ledges, tall buildings, or other high nest sites chosen by its parents. It cannot yet fly and relies on adults for torn pieces of birds and other prey. When threatened, it crouches low, calls sharply, and may peck with its small hooked beak. A notable fact is that hatchlings grow extremely quickly, changing from helpless chicks to nearly full-sized young in only a few weeks.
