Peregrine Falcon Fledgling
Falco peregrinus (fledgling)

A recently fledged young falcon practices short flights around cliffs, towers, and open hunting areas. It still depends partly on adults for food while learning to chase and handle birds in the air. Its flight is less controlled than an adult's, but it can already use wing buffets, talon grabs, and short dives. Juvenile plumage is browner and streakier than the adult's, helping distinguish it during its first year.
