Oriental Magpie Hatchling
Pica serica (hatchling)

A newly hatched black-billed magpie is nearly naked, blind, and completely dependent on care inside a twig nest. It lives in open woodland, farmland edges, or parkland where adults can find insects and scraps to bring back. Its main behavior is gaping and giving sharp begging calls when vibrations or shadows signal food. A notable fact is that corvid hatchlings grow quickly, with pinfeathers beginning to appear within days.
