American White Ibis
Eudocimus albus

A long-legged white wading bird of marshes, swamps, mangroves, mudflats, and wet lawns across the southeastern United States and Caribbean region. It feeds by touch, sweeping and probing its curved red bill through shallow water or soft mud for crayfish, crabs, insects, fish, and frogs. Adults fly strongly between feeding and roosting sites but fight mainly with close bill jabs, wing slaps, and threat displays. The black wingtips are usually hidden at rest but show clearly in flight.
