American White Ibis Chick
Eudocimus albus (chick)

A downy nestling raised in noisy colonies over marshes, mangroves, or wetland shrubs. It stays close to the nest and depends on adults for regurgitated aquatic prey such as small crustaceans, insects, and fish. Chicks beg with persistent calls and use their growing bills to peck at nest material and siblings during competition for food. Newly hatched young have straight bills that gradually curve as they mature.
