Vine Weevil
Otiorhynchus sulcatus

A small, dark, flightless weevil with a tough exoskeleton and fused wing covers. Adults are mostly nocturnal, climbing plants at night to chew notches from leaf edges and hiding in soil litter or pot crevices by day. They cannot fly, but they cling well with their legs and often drop motionless when threatened. Females can reproduce without males, allowing a single adult to start a new infestation.
