Isabella Tiger Moth
Pyrrharctia isabella
The adult is a small yellow-orange tiger moth often seen in open habitats, gardens, and near lights at night. It flies after dark to find mates and suitable host plants for its eggs. Adults may sip nectar but live mainly on stored energy from the caterpillar stage. Its soft wings are marked with scattered dark spots, making it much less bristly and ground-bound than the larva.
