Dark Sword-Grass
Agrotis ipsilon

A nocturnal moth of open habitats, farmland, gardens, and grassy places where its larvae can find host plants. Adults fly at night, visit flowers for nectar, and rest camouflaged against bark, soil, or dead leaves during the day. It is a strong flier and can migrate long distances between breeding areas. The dark dagger-like mark on each forewing is one of its most recognizable features.
