Dyeing Poison Frog Froglet
Dendrobates tinctorius (froglet)

After leaving the water, this tiny froglet stays in damp leaf litter and low vegetation where humidity protects its delicate skin. It hunts minute prey such as springtails, mites, and very small ants with quick snaps of its tongue. Its adult colors are beginning to show, but the body is still small and vulnerable compared with a mature frog. As it starts eating alkaloid-bearing arthropods, its skin defenses begin to become more chemically potent.
