Western Gorilla Juvenile
Gorilla gorilla (juvenile)

Western gorilla juveniles range through tropical lowland forest with their social group, becoming more active on the ground and in low vegetation. They play, climb, wrestle, and practice displays while still staying near protective adults. Their diet shifts toward fruit, leaves, shoots, bark, and other plant material, though they may still learn feeding choices from older gorillas. A notable fact is that juveniles practice chest beating and other social signals long before reaching full adult size.
