House Crow Nestling
Corvus splendens (nestling)

Nestling House Crows are feathering rapidly but still remain in the nest, usually in trees, palms, or structures close to people. They beg loudly and eat a varied diet delivered by adults, including insects, small animal matter, fruit, and discarded human food. At this stage they can peck, shuffle, and crouch, but they are not yet capable of sustained flight. Their growing intelligence shows in early attention to movement, sounds, and feeding routines around the nest.
