Common Eastern Froglet

Crinia signifera

Common Eastern Froglet

Adult Common Eastern Froglets inhabit moist grasslands, woodland edges, gardens, marshy areas, and temporary freshwater pools across southeastern Australia. They eat small invertebrates, including insects, spiders, and other tiny arthropods, usually seized in a short ambush lunge. Their highly variable brown, grey, and mottled skin provides effective camouflage, while males give a distinctive repeated breeding call near water after rain.
