Red-bellied Pacu Fry
Piaractus brachypomus (fry)
The fry occupies shallow, protected river edges, especially flooded forest habitat with dense cover. It picks at plankton, algae, small invertebrates, and fine plant material while growing rapidly. Its silvery body and quick bursts of swimming help it evade larger fish.
