White-bellied Sea Eagle Hatchling
Icthyophaga leucogaster (hatchling)

A newly hatched chick remains deep in a large stick nest near coasts, rivers, lakes, or mangroves. It is downy, weak, and fully dependent on adults for warmth and torn pieces of fish, waterbirds, or carrion. Its main behaviours are begging, huddling, and jabbing with its small hooked beak when disturbed. Sibling competition can be intense in raptor nests, making early growth a demanding stage.
