White-bellied Sea Eagle Juvenile
Icthyophaga leucogaster (juvenile)

A young bird after leaving the nest has brownish plumage and spends much time near shorelines, estuaries, reservoirs, and wooded coastal edges while perfecting flight. It practices short dives, awkward landings, and surface snatches for fish, crabs, reptiles, and carrion. Juveniles may wander widely before settling into adult territories. The pale adult belly and head develop gradually over several years rather than appearing at first flight.
