Eurasian Curlew
Numenius arquata

A large wading bird of estuaries, saltmarshes, moorland, wet grassland, and coastal mudflats. It feeds by probing deeply with its long down-curved bill for worms, mollusks, crustaceans, and other invertebrates. Adults are strong fliers and perform territorial display flights with far-carrying, bubbling calls. The Eurasian Curlew has one of the longest bills of any European wader, with females usually having the longer bill.
