Angelfish Fry
Pterophyllum scalare (fry)
Free-swimming fry shelter among submerged roots, vegetation, and other cover in calm Amazonian waters. They pick at tiny crustaceans, insect larvae, and other drifting microscopic food. Their striped pattern begins developing early and helps break up their outline among stems and shadows.
