Ball Python Juvenile
Python regius (juvenile)

Juvenile ball pythons inhabit sheltered ground cover in West and Central African grasslands, savannas, and open forests, frequently using abandoned burrows or termite mounds. Mostly active at night, they wait in concealment to ambush small mammals and birds, subduing prey by constriction rather than venom. As they grow, juveniles remain notably defensive rather than aggressive and commonly curl into a compact ball when threatened.
