European Turtle-Dove Fledgling
Streptopelia turtur (fledgling)
This newly feathered young dove shelters in scrub, hedges, and low trees near the nest site while learning to fly. It follows its parents, receives occasional food from them, and begins picking small seeds from the ground. Its first flights are short and fluttering, but it quickly develops the direct flight needed before migration.
