Rock Dove Squab
Columba livia (squab)

Rock dove squabs remain in a sheltered nest on a cliff ledge, building nook, or other protected cavity while both parents attend them. They are fed nutrient-rich crop milk at first, followed by softened seeds and grains regurgitated by the adults. A notable fact is that squabs hatch with sparse yellow down and can grow from a tiny hatchling to near adult mass in only a few weeks.
