Queen Conch
Aliger gigas
Adult queen conchs inhabit warm, shallow seagrass meadows and sandy flats across the Caribbean region. They graze algae with a rasping radula and can push or leap away using their powerful foot. A mature adult is recognizable by the broad flared lip of its heavy spiral shell.
