Queen Conch Juvenile
Aliger gigas (juvenile)

Juvenile queen conchs live on shallow sandy bottoms and among seagrass beds after settling from the plankton. They crawl with their broad muscular foot, grazing algae and organic films from the substrate. Young conchs can bury into loose sand and use their growing shell as protection from predators.
