Double-crested Cormorant Chick
Nannopterum auritum (chick)
Double-crested Cormorant chicks remain in crowded nesting colonies on rocky shores, islands, and trees near water. They are covered in dark down and rely on both parents to regurgitate fish into their mouths. Chicks beg loudly and grow rapidly, but cannot yet swim or fly effectively.
