Double-crested Cormorant Juvenile
Nannopterum auritum (juvenile)

Double-crested Cormorant juveniles leave the nest with brownish plumage and a pale breast, often gathering near sheltered lakes, rivers, and coasts. They begin catching fish, crayfish, and other aquatic prey by pursuing it underwater. Young birds must practice diving and drying their water-soaked wings before becoming efficient hunters.
