Common Buzzard Chick
Buteo buteo (chick)

Common buzzard chicks hatch in a stick nest lined with greenery, usually in woodland edges or on mature trees near open hunting ground. They are downy, nest-bound, and depend entirely on adults for pieces of small mammals, birds, reptiles, and carrion. When disturbed, a chick may crouch low, hiss, and use its beak defensively. A notable feature is the strong size difference that can develop between nest-mates when food is scarce.
