White sturgeon
Acipenser transmontanus

Adult white sturgeon inhabit large rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters of western North America, spending much of their time near the bottom. They feed by probing sediments for molluscs, crustaceans, worms, and fish, drawing prey in with a powerful suction mouth. As North America's largest freshwater fish, this long-lived species can grow several metres in length and live for more than a century.
