White Sturgeon Juvenile
Acipenser transmontanus (juvenile)

Juvenile white sturgeon range through deep river channels and estuaries, often moving between fresh and brackish water. They use sensitive barbels beneath the snout to locate worms, molluscs, crustaceans, and fish along the bottom. Their protrusible, toothless mouth creates suction to draw prey in from the substrate.
