Upside-Down Jellyfish Planula Larva
Cassiopea andromeda (planula larva)

This tiny, ciliated larva drifts and swims through warm, shallow coastal waters after being released by an adult jellyfish. It survives on stored nutrients rather than actively hunting while it searches for a suitable hard surface. Once it finds a sheltered substrate, it attaches and transforms into a sessile polyp.
