Upside-Down Jellyfish Scyphistoma Polyp
Cassiopea andromeda (scyphistoma polyp)

The scyphistoma is a small, bottom-attached polyp found on firm surfaces in protected tropical shallows. It extends a ring of tentacles to catch tiny zooplankton and other suspended food particles. Its stinging cells help subdue prey, and this sedentary stage later produces a young free-swimming ephyra.
