Upside-Down Jellyfish Ephyra
Cassiopea andromeda (ephyra)

The ephyra is a newly released juvenile jellyfish that swims freely in sheltered tropical seas. It pulses its small, lobed bell to move through the water and captures minute plankton with developing oral arms. Unlike the attached polyp, it must actively navigate the water column as it grows into a medusa.
